Making simple changes or taking small steps to prioritise our mental health doesn’t need to be complicated or take loads of time. But it can be hard to know where to start sometimes.

Start by reaching out to us. Find your local Mind. You can follow Wirral Mind on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram and check out our YouTube channel where we have published self-help videos including a Five Ways to Wellbeing series, breathing techniques, and relaxation, amongst others.

Make a pledge to yourself to do one thing positive for you.

Have a daily maintenance plan; these are things to do every day to help keep you well.

Build in time for ‘wellness tools’; these are other things you can do that make you feel better, things you enjoy and make you feel good. These are individual to us and what works for one person might not work for another so it is important to find out and explore what works for you; and it can be any number of things such as:

  • Yoga
  • Mindfulness or relaxation exercises
  • Baking
  • Gardening
  • Go for a walk
  • Reading
  • Listening to music
  • Have a bath
  • Watch a comedy programme
  • Catch up with a friend
  • Take up a new hobby
  • Journaling or creative writing
